“Values are like fingerprints. Nobody’s are the same,
but you leave ‘em all over everything you do.”
– The King, Elvis Presley
Do you believe that your individual values affect every single one of your decisions? How about your behavior? You’ll often hear values described as pillars. Pillars are fundamental and foundational. They are characteristically supportive and strong. And structurally, they lift things higher. Your values exist at your very core; they can’t help but influence you.
Our team at Red Door realized the importance of having established values in our business early on. We knew we needed a foundation to stand firm on, something that would make us stronger and would help us reach higher goals. Our six core values form this foundation:
PEOPLE OVER PROFIT
At Red Door, we believe that people are the end game, not the means. We believe that investing in people is the best way to steward our resources.
GROWTH OVER COMFORT
We believe that our greatest strength is our ability to learn quickly. We learn by doing – eagerly tackling new challenges by taking the first step.
AUTHENTICITY OVER IMAGE
We believe that only genuine people can make lasting impressions on those around them. We share our beliefs and intentions so that we can authentically connect with those we meet.
GRATITUDE OVER ENTITLEMENT
We are constantly thankful for the gifts we have been given and we show our thankfulness through our work. We work willingly and joyfully, tending never toiling.
SERVANT LEADERSHIP OVER TITLES
We value humility and we serve freely. Servant leadership turns the power pyramid upside-down – instead of people working to serve the leader, the leader exists to serve the people.
TEAMWORK OVER ALL-STARS
We are in it for the long haul and we believe that we will travel farther as a team than we would as individuals.
I believe that our values as a business are not only imperative to the success and satisfaction of our team, but they will also impact the success and satisfaction of you when you come and experience our escape rooms. Our decisions and our behavior have our fingerprints all over them. Where are you leaving your mark? Can you see your values reflected there?
